TCM medicinal plant garden
Touch and explore!
A joint project by the TCM Fachverband Schweiz and the ZHAW for study and research purposes
Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) is increasingly being practiced all around the globe-including switzerland. However, the plants used to produce TCM medicinals are practically unknown to us. Here in the first TCM garden for learning and research in Switzerland, located on the grounds of the ZHAW-Campus Grüental in Wädenswil, we exhibit a basic assortment of more than 100 chinese medicinal plant species, which is to be continuously expanded to at least 200 species.
In consideration of their ecological requirements, the plants are arranged according to their habitats. The collection encourages and helps future TCM practitioners to get a better understanding of the variety of medicinal plants. It is also open to the public and welcomes everyone to explore and discover.
The exotic plants take you to a fascinating world and, together with information on characteristics of TCM medicine, arouse the curiosity of this plant-based healing method.
